Stag Beetle Ring – This handmade ring is created using the lost wax casting method. We carve the piece in wax and then cast it in the metal of your choice. The stage beetle measures 2″L and 1″w at legs or widest part.
The stag beetle in Ancient Egyptian symbolism was called – Keph-ra. He was the ‘Egyptian god of midnight who bears the sun through the underworld’. The Stag Beetle is the male version, the scarab beetle is the female.
Male stag beetles use their jaws to wrestle each other for favored mating sites in a manner that parallels the way stags fight over females. Fights may also be over food, such as tree sap and decaying fruits. Despite their often fearsome appearance, they are not normally aggressive to humans. There is thus also a connection with mating rituals and sex, and thus the added symbolism is related to the use of Sex magick and Sexual stimulation as a means of generating spiritual experience.

Sterling silver can tarnish over time. We recommend using a flannel polishing cloth to clean the ring. Yellow bronze has a heavy copper content so it may discolor the skin with wear, this discoloration can be washed off.
This gorgeous piece is stunning on it makes a lovely mate to our cicada ring. I wear this ring daily with the cicada ring it is twice the weight of the cicada ring so it is heavy and statement size, but it is very comfortable and does not get in the way.
