I find that the marks our hands can make, from abstract scribbles to refined realism, whatever is channeled between your heart, head, & hand, are worth honoring & celebrating!
During Sketch to Etch, we do just that. Using simple & economical resist methods, we are able to transfer the marks from our imaginations, onto archival & wearable copper & brass. I love teaching this method because it is a unique, style defining technique that offers exploration for beginning & advanced metal smiths. It opens doors from beautifully crafted holiday gifts to gallery quality fine art.
This workshop is one day, approximately three hours & includes snacks & beverages. A variety of resist methods will be demonstrated & each student will create a finished copper or brass creation that celebrates the special markings of their hands.
